Marin had her developmental exam last Thursday and passed with flying colors!  She needs a little help with her expressive language.  I'm so happy that's all we need to work on.  She's such a smart little girl!  Speech therapy starts next Monday.

Ellery starts swim lessons at DU tonight.  DU is much closer to us and I'm looking forward to not having to drive 30 miles just for a 30 minute lesson.  She really digs swimming.  I don't think she's as into gymnastics.  Bob put training wheels on her 1st big girl bike!  She calls it her new bike and it EXTREMELY excited to ride it every night after preschool.  Little does she know, the bike is at least 10 years old and was brought home by our neighbors 2 years ago after it had sat lonely in the park for over a week!  We've been storing in the shed.  I'm so glad she is oblivious to whether an item is really new as opposed to used.  That oblivion will end soon enough, but for now they will continue to wear "new" consignment and thrift store clothes and play with hand-me-down toys.

Well alot has been going on...I had an interview Tuesday..went well. I should know in 1-2 weeks. Layton will play his last game of soccer 2morrow :(  Chelsea is getting better and better at driving the Mustang..She turned 8,000 miles on it last week! We've been driving into town about everyday after school, just to get a pop. It still makes me nervous at times when she kills the Mustang in the middle of an intersection!! 2 months and she'll be 16!! Can't believe it!
Laura and I will be participating in our 1st 5K race on the 15th!! We are getting excited! I am sure Laura is going to kick my butt!
After 7 years, I finally got my 1st Mother's Day present from Doug... a new fishing pole! So we tried it out tonight..I still kicked all their butts!! It was quite interesting trying to find out way back to the house through the dark woods..I think we learned a lesson about that.
Layton has 5 days left of school and Chels has 3 (she is exempt from finals b/c she's getting all A's)
I have to say I'm a proud mama!!
I never knew southern Illinois had skinks. What is a skink one might ask? A grey lizard type thing with a red face. Apparently their face becomes more red with more sunlight. Thanks to my facebook friends for educating me on Skinks.. I seen one in our backyard today.
Well good night my sisters... Love and Miss you!! A couple more months and we'll see each other!! Make that a little over 1 month. Can't wait!

Had a telephone interview yesterday!! It went very well. Hopefully I should be hearing something within a few weeks.

Well I'm feeling very disturbed at the moment. I have spent the last hour being educated on what our food is made of and what is being put in the foods we eat. I believe this is why we as a nation have so many health issues. More people need to be educated on what is being put in our food. Maybe the more people know, then the more people will buy locally grown foods, and then maybe buying these foods won't be so expensive. Guess I made a good decision in starting a garden this year. And thankfully I buy from a meat shop where the meat comes from local farms. I have to say shame on Monsanto!!

Ellery had her first dentist appointment on Friday.  I had to work, so Bob took her.  She did great!  It took her about 10-15 minutes to warm up, but then she let them clean all of her teeth.  They gave her a toothbrush and showed her how to floss.  She's brushing her teeth twice a day now......without being asked!  She's addicted to flossing.  She came to me this morning as we were leaving for preschool and work and asked me to floss her teeth.  She lays backwards on my legs and makes me count each tooth as I'm flossing.   The dentist said she has a small mouth (sounds funny to say, since we all know she is very verbal) and will need eventually will need some teeth removed and braces. 

Still waiting to hear from Marin's speech therapist as to when we are starting her therapy.  She knows something going on and has about 1 new word a day!

Congratulations to my children!! Chels shot a 74 (her best so far) and won a medal today! Layton made 3 goals at his soccer game today and his team won the game!
Layton's dance went great last night. I'll post some pics later. The entire house smelt like Abercrombie cologne!

Well tonight is the big Jr High dance for Layton. We found some shoes, but they weren't ugly brown dress shoes, instead another pair of tennis shoes. They'll work I guess! While Chels was at shooting practice last night I walked/jogged 3.2 miles and was exhausted! I don't think Chels appreciated me stopping to watch her shoot nor did she appreciate me standing by her and her teammates dripping with sweat, she looked as though she was embarrased. Our First 5K

It's set, well almost........we have decided to run a 5K in June together.  The day after the Hackney family reunion.  It's the Tanger Outlets Fit For Families 5K Run/Walk in Tuscola, IL.  Now we need to keep each other motivated!  We will NOT be walking this 5K.  Wish us luck!
